This is a beautifully illustrated small book. But if you're looking for a well written explanation of the Golden Mean for the layperson, this isn't it. If you can read page 4 and understand the formulas on page five at the very beginning of the book then you'll do just fine. However, I am in my 60's and it's been decades since I was in a math class and though I'm pretty good at math given my age, this book didn't fulfill my hopes of an approachable way to learn more about the Golden Mean.
Hooray for Fibonacci! Certainly one of the funnest mathematical truths to get young minds contemplating.Wooden Books publishing has developed a great 1 page, with an accompanying illustration page, at a time approach to explaining all kinds of natural occurrence and phenomena. This is a beautiful small book, Drawn in all black and white it looks both ancient and modern, a lovely approach to timeless truth! Since it's a small book it doesn't attempt to show a comprehensive collection of how many places The Golden Section shows up. What it does show is very clearly presented. I feel refreshed every time I go through it! I think I cherish it.
Not much to say...better to get Grillo's book or the POWER IF LIMITS SND PROPORTIONAL HARMONY...etc those books will give you more for you $. Hollis Ward
If you have a science student they know about the Golden Ratio & Sacred Geometry. I bought this and another of the "wooden books" for my nephew who graduated University. He loved them and was happy to bring them to his new apartment and new life.
