This is the first review that I have ever left on Amazon. I deemed it very important as I think other reviews aid strongly in choosing review material. My experience is from the FP-C. I found the material listed to be the closest to the 3 books that I used to review. After about 7 days of review, it was very clear that the material Bauer puts forth is well researched, well thought out, and very challenging. I put the other two books aside which included ACE STAT and Back To Basics and focused highly on this material and used the Back to Basics as a back up for questions only. I listed the other 2 books because I had a lot of anxiety about which material to study. I had no problems with other practice questions after review with this material. Also, make sure you have the SECOND EDITION as there are very few errors on that one. I do agree that there are about 2-3 questions that do not match the answer. However, if we use common sense and read the explanation of the answer it is very clear where the mistake is made, which I would encourage you to do with any review that you purchase. I spent a lot of time in review with this material and found that it was EXTREMELY KEY for not only begin able to pass the FP-C the first time, but to add it to my personal library. I will not hesitate to share this material with anyone that is interested in not only "upping their game", but to use as a review for FP-C. Cannot recommend this enough! Further, as a side note, I have sent Eric numerous emails asking lots of questions. I have always gotten a response within the hour, including a Sunday morning about 9 AM.
This book was bought for my wife. This is her review.... I was attempting to study for the CFRN. Given the reviews, I felt this would be a good book to add to my collection. WRONG!! I have never struggled so much trying to review for a certification exam. There were many duplicated questions (just worded differently) and rationals that took longer the decipher than to take the quiz. In addition, the only rationals provided were why the answer was correct and nothing to help me see why my selection was incorrect. There were many "fill in the blank" questions which do nothing to prepare for a multiple choice test. This not the NCLEX. There were several times where the author used "memory jogs" that only he was familiar with. I could also tell which questions/answers were written by someone else (the RN co-auther, prehaps). They were easy to follow, with helpful rational on all possible answers.I do not recommend this book for exam study purposes. It is very hard to follow. "Back to Basics" is much, MUCH better and concise.Roxan, RN, EMICT, CCRN, CNRN
Great information but not even close to any questions in the FP-C or CFRN! This is written very differently than any other study material for both of these tests. Had I studied this book and relied on its contents I would have failed. Back to Basics by Orchid Lopez and the Ace Sat are your best choices. Don't forget the Astna Air & Medical transport book by Renee Hollarman this is the gold standard for transport.
Excellent info broken down
I used this book to prepare for taking the CFRN. I study best by going over questions. This book has lots of questions that make you think your answers through before you pick an answer. He give the rationale for all the correct answers!!! Love that!! I was able to pass my CFRN....and I have no flight experience!!! 😊
Lot of information geared more for the CFRN but great info.
