The inspiring history behind this book tells a story of making things beautiful around you and doing what you can to bring joy into your world. The innocent and vintage-feel illustrations fit this story perfectly. I have immediately placed this book on our "classics" shelf. This is one to own and read over and over. Gift for a four year old.
This is a great book to read to classes at the end of the school year. The pictures have a retro feel, and I particularly love the two pages showing crowds of smiling children holding their goldfish bowls. The fact that it is true makes it even better. A feel-good book highlighting positive community and intergenerational sharing. I love it!
